iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad Help With Mike

To start off you need a jailbroken iPod. If you wish to jailbreak your iPhone now, there is a step by step guide here.

Step 1: Download BSD Subsystem and Open SSH from the cydia application that you recieved when you jailbroke your iPhone/iPod Touch.

Step 2: Download FileZilla on your computer. There are other FTP programs such as Cute ftp, but for this I will be using FileZilla.

Step 3: Get your ip address from you iPhone/iPod Touch. Go into Settings then select your current network and you will see your ip address. Mine currently is 192.168.1.134 and yours may be similar or may not be.

Step 4: Open FileZilla and click File -> Site Manager.

Enter your ip address in Host.

Server Type is SFTP.

Logon Type: Normal

User: root

Password: Alpine (Always will be unless you change this in Terminal)

Then Click Connect

Step 5: Find your music.  Copy this text into Remote Site: /private/var/mobile/media/itunes_control/music/

If your music is not there or it does not work try navigating manually, there is also an alternative method for finding your music, which I will gladly show you if you ask.

Step 6: Select all music and copy over to your computer wherever you would like it. Depending on how much music you have this may take a long time to transfer. Once  all the music is transferred you can now use it as you wish.
